Overture Technologies today announced the appointment by its board of directors of C. Russ Carlson as chief executive officer of the company. Company founder, Bill Kelvie, will become chairman of the board of directors.

“Russ Carlson is a leader with great integrity and judgment, and has the business experience and skills to keep Overture Technologies the premiere company of its kind during this historic time in the national financial system,” Kelvie said. “In our effort to find the best possible person to lead Overture Technologies into its next stage of growth, the board of directors could not have found a more qualified new CEO.”

Most recently, Carlson, 50, was with Blackboard, Inc. where he served as president of their academic technology business in North America. Blackboard is the global leader in enterprise technology and innovative solutions designed to improve the experience of millions of students and learners.
