Student Loan Credit Crunch Continues

The Michigan Higher Education Student Loan Authority(MHESLA) announced recently that they will temporarily no longer make loans under their MiLoan alternative student loan program. If other states are forced to follow, the cost of funds for students will rise dramatically in those states. These state based programs tend to be the best source of alternative loan funds for students - for example, the MiLoan program offered a fixed rate of only 6.95%.
